  1. Meditate every day: Meditation is an integral element of being mindful, conscious, and free of stress. It involves becoming aware of our feelings, thoughts, and emotions and embracing them all without fear or judgment. The simplest form of meditation is to breathe deeply and consciously, allowing your mind and body to inhale and exhale.
  2. Movement: By ensuring that you move every day through exercising, walking, dancing, or working out, your body learns to release the “happy hormones” called endorphins, which fight the stress hormones called cortisol.
  3. Sleeping early and sleeping well: There is a reason our elders told us that, “early to bed, early to rise, makes you healthy, wealthy and wise”. Sleep plays a crucial role in ensuring that our minds and body remain healthy and can function productively without stress.
  4. Reduce screen time and social media consumption: Social media detox is the most popular advice given by mental health professionals. Overconsumption of social media and excessive screen time wire our brains into a state of constant stress as we compare ourselves to others.
  5. Maintain positive and healthy relationships: Our social connections and friendships can aid in our overall well-being because after all, humans are social animals. When are in healthy relationships, we seek social support to combat our life stressors. Loneliness increases stress, whereas social support aids in stress relief.
