Whether you are a millennial or a “Gen Z”, traveling is one goal that is on almost every New Year’s Resolution List or on the “Bucket List of Life”. From mountains to the beaches, from tranquil getaways to adventurous rendezvous, from European destinations to the quaint hill stations of India- everyone wants to travel more in 2023. And no wonder why!

Traveling to new places opens a window into new people and cultures and opens your mind to new perspectives on life. Looking over vast oceans with the meditative sound of crashing waves or walking through dense forests during a hike, allows us to understand the role we play in the infinitely vast space on planet Earth. It removes us from our mundane lives of responsibilities and stressors and gives us a moment to just breathe; to take it all in.

Visiting new places and immersing yourself in their cultures, food, and traditions, not only makes you a smarter and more adult, but also one who is more tolerant of other people’s opinions and desires. It opens your personality for introspection, all the while being an experience of finding the liberation of peace and happiness. When we travel, we disconnect from a version of ourselves and find a way to recharge and rejuvenate. This simple process of taking a few days off from work has been shown to significantly reduce anxiety and stress and increase your overall physical and mental well-being.

So if you are hesitating to take a small holiday away from your city, this is a small nudge telling you to do it!
